Design Process

1. Initial Contact

Typically a phone conversation followed by a home visit in order to establish a sense of the project and chemistry between designer and client.

2. Budget

Once I understand the scope of the project, I’ll provide you with an estimate of hours I believe will be needed to accomplish the job. This is always client-approved before moving forward.

3. Contract

After the budget has been established, I’ll write up a customized contract outlining the full scope of the project. You will be billed for an initial block of time and billed monthly thereafter.

4. Design Plan Development

I begin designing your space and pulling all elements together for your project.

5. Design Presentation

I will meet with you to present the full design plan – including room schematics, visuals of furnishings, lighting, accessories, artwork and window treatments. Physical samples of fabrics, carpet, wall coverings, paint swatches and wood finishes will be presented as well. I will then tweak any of the design elements per your feedback.

6. Construction (Optional)

If construction is part to the project, I will meet with the builder, remodeler and construction crews on an ongoing basis to assure the project runs smoothly and all materials used are the ones specified and executed as outlined in the plan.

7. Interior Decorating

I will order all furnishings, accessories and artwork and assure their timely arrival as well as oversee the delivery and inspection of all items. All fabrics and trims for custom window treatments and bedding will also be ordered. I will oversee the production of these items, assuring my high-quality standards are met. Details Interiors will oversee the delivery and full installation of all furnishings, artwork and accessories – allowing you to walk in and see the completed brand new space we’ve created just for you.

8. Move-In-Ready Services

If you need help with move-in ready services (especially helpful for vacation or second home properties), I’m here to help. I can stock the kitchen with all necessary utensils, cookware and serving items, and can stock bathrooms with all the essentials – from towels to bathmats to toiletries. What could be better than to walk in to your new home and actually start enjoying it from day one?
